646f9e108c Abbot Reeves is a renegade scientist who is conducting time travel experimentshe plots to travel back into time and rule the world. Reeves orders his latest creation, Mandroid, a cyborg constructed from the body of a pilot named John, injured in a plane crash to be dismantled. Rebelling against his evil creator, Mandroid escapes. Helped by robotics scientist Dr. Nora Hunter. Mandroid and Nora travel into the Mexican jungle where they go in search of Reeve's jungle fortress. Joined by Harry Fontana, a rogue river boatman and Kuji, son of Reeve's assistant Dr. Takeda (Who was killed trying to help Mandroid escape). Mandroid and his companions set out to fight back against Reeves and stop him from achieving his goal,he plans to travel back into time to the Roman Empire and become the Emperor, part of his goal to rule the world.
As part of their experiments in time travel, Drs. Reeves and Takada construct a cyborg "Mandroid" with the body of a downed pilot. After the success of the initial experiments, Reeves decides to have the Mandroid scrapped. Not wishing to be taken apart, Mandroid flees with the help of Dr. Takeda, who is killed for his disobedience. Distraught by the death of his one friend, the Mandroid goes north to America in search of someone who can help him in getting revenge and stopping Dr. Reeves in whatever evil plan he intends to use his time machine for.
*Spoiler/plot- 1986, A brilliant scientist who's mastered time travel and recently created a Man-driod (half human and half machine) from a former crashed pilot named John is transformed into a mechanical slave with extensive weapons. The scientist is an evil madman whose sole aim is to rule the world and anybody that doesn't do his murderous commands. As such, Man-driod is out to avenge himself against his creator. He gains the help of a beautiful Air Force scientist. And a Mexican jungle guide, named 'Fontana' helps this pair to get back to the madman scientist's headquarters. Along the way a mysterious Kung Fu expert joins them with his mission to avenge his madman's assistant scientist murdered father, all killed by Dr. Abbot 'madman' Reeves.

*Special Stars- Andrew Prine, Denise(Annette) Crosby, Patrick Reynolds, Conan Lee, Roy Dotrice

*Theme- Human spirit is stronger than steel and death itself.

*Trivia/location/goofs- Filmed in Mexico, look for a politically incorrect flannel shirted butch lesbian charactera 'baddie' in the river traveling scenes. Kung Fu, time travel, robots with human parts, and A-Team excessive explosions occur in this predictably laughable film for its triteness and predictability.

*Emotion- An enjoyable but rather crazy science-fiction film full of clichéd genres of the 80's. Annette (Denise) Crosby was still an unknown and was pre Star Trek TNG here. She supplies some of the wet t-shirt titillation in this film. I was half expecting a trite mud-wrestling scene with beautiful blond feminine Crosby and the dark butch lesbian to occur in a badly thought out plot pretext.
Sure, it's a b-movie… But! This is the absolute best of B-movies, I could think of a whole lot of 'A-movies' I find either less interesting or simply less entertaining than this masterpiece.

This movie has: - An Indiana Jones - A hot army robot-technician - A terminator - An R2D2 - A ninja - Cavemen - Romans - An evil professor who wants to take over the world

And this all combined in a jungle adventure with Dukes of Hazard kind of action.

How could this suck? I mean, yeah, the storypremise is insane, completely and utterly insane, and yeah, the movie borrowed a LOT of ideas. But this is such an over the top mish-mash of characters and situations,a whole it's pretty unique and EXTREMELY entertaining.

If you like 80s adventure movies and are not scared of lower production value, go see this. It's absolutely fantastic.

Yes, Patrick is a grandson of cigarette company founder RJ Reynolds (Camels, Winstons, Salems, KOOL), but he spoke out publicly against Big Tobacco in Congress, and has since become a leading advocate for youth tobacco prevention and cessation. Today Patrick is a frequent professional speaker at high schools, universities, and community groups. Does he still want to act? Make him a credible offer and find out.

Patrick's anti-smoking TV news profiles and debates are posted at www.tobaccofree.org/tv/

Mr. Reynolds' public bioan anti-smoking advocate may be found at www.tobaccofree.org/bio/

His private bio for the entertainment industry only is at www.tobaccofree.org/bioact/

Patrick "Mandroid" Reynolds' personal gallery of snapshots taken during the filming of Eliminators is posted at –

http://classic.kodakgallery.com/patrick/main/1986_eliminators_starring_patrick

Three books include histories of the making of ELIMINATORS:

1. 'Empire of the B's - The Movie Madness of Charles Band 1973-1989' should be published in England / the UK by the end of 2012. It's a brilliant, serious work by an excellent journalist and film historian about the films of Charles Band. I'm Patrick Reynolds, the former actor who plays the Mandroid, and have read the chapter on Eliminators. It's a truly outstanding history of the film and production, and offers the macro perspective of Band and Empire Productions at the zenith of their power back in Hollywood, eventhe Eliminators cameras filmed in Spain in the hot summer of 1985. The Eliminators chapter includes recent interviews with the cast and director,do all the chapters; author David Jay emailed me in April, 2012, "The publisher has three or four books that they are planning on releasing in 2012, and mine is in the queue. But I don't yet have a definite release date. I do have a fair amount of trivia regarding ELIMINATORS, but wouldn't want to give it all away before the book is released, much of it is fairly exclusive…." So keep a lookout for this worthy work.

2. 'The Gilded Leaf: Triumph, Tragedy and Tobacco – Three Generations of the RJ Reynolds Family and Fortune' by Patrick Reynolds and Tom Shachtman. This book is from the point of view of Patrick Reynolds, one of the Eliminators, and also a grandson of tobacco company founder RJ Reynolds (Camels, Winstons). The filming of Eliminators is mentionedpart of his autobiographical work about his family, and shows Reynolds in the context of being newly separated and divorced from his first wife and the unexpected death of his mother five days before the start of filming in and around Madrid. The Gilded Leaf was initially published by Little Brown, and is now available through www.iUniverse.com. It's also avaialable used at www.Amazon.com. For reviews see www.Tobaccofree.org/book/

3. 'Gods in Spandex' by Suzanne Donahue and Mikael Sovijarvi, Succubus Press. This film history book of interviews with stars of 80s films – all superheros in tights – may be out of print. Patrick Reynolds was interviewed for this book, which is less scholarly than Empire of the B's, but nonetheless is a real recounting of the making of the films by the actors who starred in them.
